Early-access terms.
Additional terms for the Silent Speech private TestFlight study.
Silent Speech is experimental. Visual-speech recognition and AI responses can be wrong. Do not rely on the service for emergencies, safety-critical communication, medical decisions, legal instructions, or financial transactions.
1. Agreement with Dafdef, inc.
Silent Speech is a product experiment from Interfaces.inc, a multi-product interface lab operated by Dafdef, inc., doing business as Interfaces.inc. These terms form an agreement between you and Dafdef, inc. and apply specifically to the Silent Speech early-access study.
2. Eligibility and invitations
You must be at least 18 years old, use your own account and recordings, and have a valid invitation. Early-access invitations are personal, limited, revocable, and may not be sold or transferred. Access may be paused to protect participants or the service.
3. Required data agreement
Personalized use requires a guided enrollment recording. Before recording, the app presents the current data agreement and records its version and your three approvals. Participation requires accepting personalization and evaluation, shared-model research, and contribution of product-use clips for which you explicitly submit a correction. If you do not agree to every purpose, do not participate in this private research cohort.
The product-specific privacy notice and research-consent summary explain the relevant data practices and choices.
4. Your responsibilities
- Record and submit only yourself and data you are authorized to provide.
- Do not create or attempt to create a model for another person.
- Do not use the service to identify, impersonate, or surveil another person.
- Protect your invitation, account, and device from unauthorized use.
- Do not reverse engineer security controls, overload the service, or use it unlawfully.
5. Experimental service
Features, models, sentence sets, limits, training times, and availability may change during the study. Transcripts and AI responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, early access is provided without a promise of uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose.
6. AI responses
When you request an AI response, Silent Speech sends the decoded text to an AI service. AI output may be inaccurate or inappropriate and is not professional advice. You are responsible for evaluating output before acting on it.
7. Feedback and study results
You may provide feedback voluntarily. We may use feedback and aggregated or de-identified study measurements to evaluate and improve Silent Speech, subject to your recorded consent choices and applicable law. You retain rights in the content you submit as described in the lab-wide terms.
8. Ending access
You may stop participating and request deletion at any time. Dafdef, inc. may suspend or end access for security, abuse, legal, research-integrity, or operational reasons. Terms that logically survive termination remain effective.
